Ecommerce Professionals: How to Use Info From Your Website to Decide What to Put on Marketing Banners

Hello, my name is Bobby. I run a restaurant which is located in Melbourne, Australia. When I opened the place, I was mostly worried about making sure I had ordered the right amount of food, that the staffing levels were correct and that the place was clean and tidy after the shift was over. However, what I didn't think about was the quality of the menus and posters that I needed to attract customers. Thankfully, my friend suggested that I contact a printing company that was able to print my designs to a very high standard. I was really impressed and my customers love them.

If you own an ecommerce site, sometimes you end up marketing to prospective clients in person. Going to an expo or a trade show? Booking a booth at a community event? Setting up a temporary shop in a mall or plaza?

In all of those situations, you need signage to attract potential customers, and pull up banners tend to be the best option. They're easy to transport, and when pulled up, they can be quite large and eye catching.

What should you put on your pull up banners? Well, you may want to use info from your website to help you decide. Consider these ideas.

1. The most visited item on your site

Ideally, you should be tracking what is happening on your website, and you should know which item is viewed the most. That is clearly an item that has piqued the interest of your online shoppers, and it's likely to be just as compelling to prospective shoppers offline.

Consider putting a picture of that product on your pull-up banner to entice potential customers to stop and talk and get more info on your ecommerce site. Alternatively, you could also focus on the most purchased item on your site.

2. The most abandoned item on your site

Instead of picking the item that is the most popular, consider including an item that people seem to be curious about on your banner. In particular, what item are people abandoning in shopping carts the most item?

When people are constantly abandoning an item, it means two things:

A) There is a lot of interest in the item

B) People aren't buying it for some reason

When you put that item on a pull-up banner, you tap into its intriguing potential. However, as you are in a face-to-face marketing format, you also offer prospective customers the chance to ask questions or learn more about the product. Ideally, you should even have the product on hand so you can do a demo.

3. The product with the most reviews

In other cases, you may want to showcase the product that has generated the most excitement after people have purchased it. In this realm, consider putting an image of the product that has the most reviews on your site.

You may even want to pull in quotes from some of the most complimentary reviews. Printers can create all kinds of designs. For example, you could have the product in the background and the positive reviews in light-coloured letters on top of it, or you could have an image of the product on the top of the banner with rave reviews underneath it.
